These awards reflect our ongoing commitment to making tortilla chips the right way, staying true to authentic methods and exceptional ingredients. At the heart of everything we do is a traditional three-day nixtamalisation process, used to prepare our corn. It’s a time-honoured technique rooted in Mexican food culture, and one that brings out the depth of flavour and texture that sets our chips apart. It’s also something the Great Taste judges have consistently recognised as a key differentiator.
A Closer Look at Some of Our Award-Winning Flavours
Lightly Salted – 2 Stars
For this flavour, we use Celestún sea salt from the Yucatán, sourced through a social enterprise rooted in ancient Mayan salt flats.
The judges described them as:
“Beautiful and enticing… a crisp and crunch that is perfection. Non-greasy, with a cracking corn flavour full of authenticity. Simple, well executed and balanced.”
Blue Corn – 2 Stars
Our blue corn is paired with amaranth sourced from a heritage farmer in Milpa Alta, overlooking Lake Texcoco. The result is a subtly sweet, earthy chip with a delicate texture.
The judges noted:
“A superb texture and mouthfeel… light, delicate and very well produced. A great example of a traditional tortilla chip.”
Chilli & Lime – 1 Star
Inspired by the bold, vibrant flavours of Puebla, this variety balances gentle chilli heat with bright citrus notes.
The judges said:
“Artisan-looking chips with a lovely golden colour. Moreish crunch, with rich corn flavour and a well-balanced chilli and lime finish.”

All of our chips are made using carefully sourced ingredients, are gluten-free, vegan-friendly, and contain no artificial additives.
Recognition like this means a lot to us, but it’s always been about more than awards. It’s about staying true to the process, the ingredients, and the culture that inspires everything we make.
